Hill Pool Open as Heatwave Hits the Hat

The Hill Pool is once again up and running as the longstanding city favourite outdoor facility is open following renovations.

The pool has been repainted, new fence put up, updated change rooms and shaded bleachers are all giving the more than 50-year-old outdoor facility a fresh new look.

The pool entrance has also been festooned with photos celebrating city outdoor pools of the past.

The Kinsmen Free Swim is back once again running from 2:15 to 4:45 pm weekday afternoons except for the start time beginning at 2:45 on Thursdays. Evening free swim events start at 7:15 and run to 8:45 pm weekdays except for Monday which ends at 8 pm.

Weekend free swims run from 1:15 to 7 pm.

The city will be celebrating the re-opening of the pool following renovations with its “Hill Yeah!” event on Monday July 14.

The event will feature a poolside DJ, pool games and barbecue from 4 to 8 pm.

Environment Canada is forecasting the current heat warning to at least run through Wednesday.
